Liquid Carbon Dioxide (LCO₂)
Liquid Carbon Dioxide (LCO₂) is colorless, odorless transparent liquid converted from CO₂ gas under high‑pressure and low‑temperature conditions. Different from cryogenic media such as LOX and LN₂, LCO₂ maintains liquid state by pressure, with storage temperature of ‑20℃ ~‑45℃ under relatively high working pressure. When depressurized, it vaporizes rapidly and absorbs massive heat, part of which sublimes into dry ice. It is stored in dedicated CO₂ pressure tanks for repeated filling.
‑ Welding: Shielding gas for MAG welding to protect welding seam
‑ Food industry: Food quick‑freezing, carbonated beverage charging, food preservation
‑ Dry‑ice production: Produce dry‑ice by expansion vaporization, for cold‑chain logistics and dry‑ice blasting cleaning
‑ Fire protection: CO₂ fire‑extinguishing system, fire suppression without residue
‑ Chemical industry: Chemical raw material, oil‑field flooding, greenhouse CO₂ fertilizer
LCO₂ is stored in special LCO₂ storage tanks (vertical or horizontal), classified as Class‑III pressure vessels. Double‑wall structure with vacuum‑powder perlite insulation inside jacket to reduce boil‑off loss. It can be stored in stationary tanks or transported by tank trucks.
