Heat Exchanger

Heat Exchanger

Product Overview

Heat exchanger, also named heat‑transfer equipment, transfers partial heat from hot fluid to cold fluid. It plays a vital role in chemical, petroleum, power, food and many other industries. It can work as heater, cooler, condenser, evaporator and reboiler in chemical processes with wide applications. Various structures are available for different media, temperature and pressure conditions. Classified by heat‑transfer principle as below:

Classification by Heat‑transfer Principle
  1. Recuperative Heat Exchanger Hot and cold fluids are separated by solid wall. Heat transfers via wall conduction and fluid convection. Types include shell‑and‑tube, double‑pipe and others. It is the most widely‑used type in industry.
  2. Regenerative Heat Exchanger Heat is transferred through solid heat‑storage matrix. Hot fluid heats the matrix, then cold fluid absorbs heat from it. Main types: rotary type, valve‑switching type.
  3. Fluid‑coupled Indirect Heat Exchanger Consists of two surface‑type heat exchangers connected by circulating heat carrier. The carrier absorbs heat on hot side and releases heat on cold side to realize indirect heat exchange.
  4. Direct‑contact (Mixed‑type) Heat Exchanger Heat exchange is realized by direct mixing of hot and cold fluids. Typical equipment: cooling tower, gas condenser.
  5. Compound Heat Exchanger Combines indirect steam‑water heat transfer and direct mixed‑flow heat transfer. It delivers higher efficiency than pure indirect heat exchange, and features better stability and lower noise than pure direct mixing heat exchange.
