Separator

To maintain good separation performance of the separator, its liquid level and pressure shall be controlled. Traditional separators adopt constant‑pressure control technology for liquid‑level and pressure regulation.

In the variable‑pressure liquid‑level control of separators, a float‑type liquid‑level controller drives the oil and gas bypass valves to work jointly. It adjusts the flow rate of crude oil and associated gas to realize liquid‑level regulation, without controlling the separator pressure.

The variable‑pressure liquid‑level control method greatly reduces throttling at oil‑gas outlet valves, lowers pressure drop across the separator and improves separation efficiency.

Oil‑gas separators and oil‑gas‑water three‑phase separators are widely used in oil‑field transfer stations and central processing stations. Proper liquid‑level and pressure control is required for stable separation performance.
